Da da da da da da da da da da da da da Ba wa wa rah rahum to the Yen Ha Ye podcast. My name as always is CJ and I'm here hosting myself as per usual. Hope you've all I've all had a fucking brilliant week out there in the cold and the wet and the wintry weather, but you know what? We're one week closer to summer. One week closer to the beautiful sunshine and drought weather and water restrictions and getting smoke in your eye from the fire. Oh gosh, I'm looking forward to it. Also complaining about how hot it is. You know, it just seems like a cycle of complaining about how cold it is and then like there's those in-between seasons. Uh spring's one where you get to complain about how wet it is and the amount of rain that we're having. And then yeah, summer's like complaining about how hot it is, and then autumn just seems to be like the most perfect of seasons where there's beautiful colours and the the the trees are losing their leaves and winter's looming in the distance, but it's not quite there yet. Summer's not quite gone Yeah. Anyways, hope you've all had a good week. Um I've had a pretty fucking good week actually. The uh generally the weeks are pretty good at the moment. Like yeah, I don't know. I don't know, man. Life's fucking good. Like society's still going down the gurgler, and there's lots of things that to be pissed off about and lots of um things, but like straight up my life's fucking good. I'm good. I'm healthy, touch wood. Um my dog's healthy, even though I left the door open again when I went out, I left the I've put the dog biscuits in this room and uh I managed to fucking leave this door open and the borough got into the biscuits again. So I'm in for a long night of fucking dog farts and the dog being scared of his farts. It uh it started happening just before, and I was like, oh great, there goes there goes my sleep tonight. Fucking sweet, sweet ass. Just surrender to it. I think that's maybe what's like getting better in life, just being able to surrender to the struggles. Like, things will be what they are, and it's all good. I'm also having a lot of like beautiful connection at the moment. Like, I forgot to mention that I got to see two of my most favouritist people in the world last week when I went over to Nelson, and um I was gonna hone over there again, but the the van needs more fucking work on it. I took that to another good friend of mine and it was fucking cool to catch up with him too. But um, yeah, she needs a bit more work on it, but at least I can have a clear conscience when I sell sell the van that uh that she's gonna be all good, you know, the wheels aren't gonna fall off on whoever buys it, and uh that's that's always a good thing, like to be able to sleep at night Yeah, so I didn't get to I didn't go over this weekend and um and catch up properly, properly with my best best one of my besties, my fam fan chosen fams. But um yeah. Oh, and another good friend of mine as well. Yeah, shout out to Tuhy and Callie. Fucking beautiful, beautiful, beautiful people. And you know what, people that have been there before I even realised like actually before I was even capable of realizing how beautiful beautiful of I don't know how to word that, but like beautiful of people they actually are and how much they actually care about me and love me. Like, yeah, I'm fucking lucky, man. I'm fucking lucky and yeah. I feel like the full moon fucked me up a bit. Like, um, yeah, definitely definitely the full moon man has a lot to a lot to fucking um answer for, I reckon. Like the actual gravitational p is that a is that a word? Gravitational gravita gravitational pull. Yeah, fuck. There's some strange things happening, strange patterns of things and s synchronized things happening between some people that I know, some women, and I was like, oh, that's it's gotta be the fucking full moon. I reckon it was a big ass full moon. Haven't looked into it much, but yeah, fucking I mean, yeah. We are pretty much made of water. The moon controls the tides, so it makes sense in my head that it'd have some sort of effect on human beings. But yeah. Anyways. Um fucking what else has happened this week? I've been listening to a band, and I've been meaning to mention this for weeks. I've kiff came across this band called James somehow. Like it's literally just that, James. And they're a UK band from Manchester. Turns out, I just looked into it today, turns out they've been around since 1982, which is fucking crazy. They've released like a ridiculous number of albums, and um fuck, they're so good. Um, I think I found the first song of theirs, I can't remember if it was She's a Star or Laid, but Laid reminded me of a song called You're Gorgeous by Baby Bird, and I fucking love that song. I'm gonna sing it and I don't give a fuck. I don't know the rules about this shit or like copyright or whatever, but I'm just gonna fucking send it. That song was like, Because you're gorgeous, I'll do anything for you, bam bam, bam, because yeah. So anyway, the song Laid by James sounds like you're gorgeous. I I reckon James probably did it first. It's just a guess though. And also they have another song, I can't remember what it's called, but Matchbox 20s. Um I put it on my current faves playlist. Hang on, I'll find it. There's a Matchbox 20 song that sounds like that too. How far we've come. Oh, that's right. Let's see how far we've come. Alright, let's see. Yeah, and there's a James song that sounds like that. So I reckon they've been pretty influential, these Jane this James band. Um apparently they like broke up in 2001 and then got back together in 2007 and put out or that might not be factual, that m those numbers might not be 100% correct, but it's all on Wikipedia. Um I could open it and get you the accurate facts, but we're just rolling with it. Um and then they released another seven fucking albums. Like that's insane. They do another song called Life's a Fucking Miracle, quite like that. That was a new one that I discovered today through listening listening to them on Spotify. And another fave is just like Fred Astaer, which I didn't know who Fred Astaer was, and I had a look, and apparently he was like a famous actor and singer and stuff, and he's quite a jam as well, like jazzy kind of yeah. Ah, fuck. It's amazing the rabbit holes and like when you start looking into things or just get curious and ask questions like the amount of information. The amount of fucking information at our fingertips these days is just I take it for granted so much, but it's amazing. Like back in my childhood, oh I don't know if it was because we were maybe s fucking we weren't rich, like we're maybe a bit poorer. Um, I think other families probably had the internet and shit. We did have the internet eventually, but um like yeah, back in my day, even at school, man, like it was fucking easier to just go whip out like the encyclopedia or the book of like world maps to find like a I remember doing that in school, finding out how to spell Hawaii and got out the got out the book and the teacher gave me a big ups for that, like getting out the world maps bat maps book to find out yeah how to spell that. Didn't get many compliments at school. Oh, probably did. That's probably that's probably not very accurate, but um yeah, yeah, it's amazing. It's so cool, like it's real nice for a brain like mine that I can just deep dive stuff when it fucking comes up. And speaking of that, fucking don't get rid of your hyper focuses. If you've got a brain like mine, I'm realizing that they make um they make they keep coming back around. Like, um, fucking so for instance with this podcast, right? I studied music at NMIT and I went out because I think you got like a you got like a did you get like a thousand dollars or something that you could spend on like um you could spend on like fucking things that you wanted to to buy while you were studying. And so I went out and I bought like the interface and this microphone and I bought an iPad too, and then like a little fucking jack thing that I could plug the the interface into. And um yeah, and if I hadn't fucking held on to this mic and shit, I also bought like a MIDI keyboard with a little beat pad and shit on it, which I don't I use that a little bit, but um had I chucked all that stuff out, I wouldn't have had it for now. And same with what else has made a oh another thing's made a comeback too, sampled songs and the origin songs and also famous covers and the originals, like for inst I yeah, for instance, um Big Mama Thornton and Hound Dog, that's the original to um Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. And if you've never fucking seen it, I highly, highly recommend going onto YouTube and watching the video. She's this big oh my gosh, she's a fucking amazing. She's this big black lady, and she plays the fucking they do like a harmonica thing as well, and fuck it, it is so much cooler than Elvis Presley. So much fucking cooler. Anyways, that's just my own personal opinion, but hey, um Elvis Presley was pretty cool, but Big Mama Thornton, fucking oh yeah, so much cooler. Um so yeah, that's made a comeback to the sampled songs um and the the the covered cover songs. Um yeah, that sort of shit just like really scratches my brain, eh? But had I gone through and deleted these, because I've made playlists on Spotify, um, had I gone through and deleted these playlists because I'm like, oh no, the hyperfocus is gone, like oh, or I'll sell all this recording stuff, then fuck. I would have lost all that time that I put into like creating these things and uh or s the money spent to um yeah and you never know when it might fucking make a return. You think sometimes you think it's done and it's fucking not done, it's just the beginning. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so anyways so anyways, that brings me to this week's this week's ba ba ba ba ba ba ba fuck that's funny and I have a add-on from last week's fuck that fuck that's funny. After further investigation, the young man with the elusive hands, his name is Nubs, and that is why YouTube fucking brought up this guy with no hands, just from a from a search that I was doing. I can't remember what the lady's name was, someone or other nubs, and I just thought that yeah, YouTube was fucking trying to cancel themselves. But yeah, the bros name, he's nubs, so that makes a lot a lot of fucking sense. But anyways, you know what? Fuck, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story, eh? Anyways. So fucking on this week's fuck that's funny, there were two honourable mentions. Well, there was there was a third one, but I can't I'm not gonna share the third one. But the on the fuck that's funny, so there's two. First one is I heard uh on the radio the gore counsellor Donna Bruce has been run over the coals a little for saying that um a presentation at her work was gay. She said that's gay to the presentation, and um and um yeah, I where I stand with that right, this word, I I think it's like the N-word. So I don't fit the demographic to be able to say the N-word. However, people that do get a free pass. And so it led me to have I I ended up Googling Donna, and to be completely honest, I'm on the fence as to whether or not she fits the bill. Like, she could, she looks like she might be able to fit the bill. There was no record of a husband, and uh I question whether it's because there's potentially a wife. But anyways, I'm not here to judge. That is completely okay, um, if she is, and uh but I was watching the I've been watching The Office, the US version, and Michael Scott at one point in time is uh they're they're gonna play this basketball game and he says to the I can't remember what the character's name is, but the young guy said, Don't be too gay on the court, and he says, Don't be too gay on the court.
SPEAKER_01And I don't mean the homosexual way, I mean the bad at sports way.
SPEAKER_00And so I reckon that if Donna didn't fit the demographic to be able to get a free pass to call this presentation gay, she could have taken a page out of Michael Scott's Michael Scott's book and just said something along the lines of that, like this presentation's gay and not in like the homosexual.
SPEAKER_01Not in like the homosexual way, but in the like this is really fucking boring.
SPEAKER_00Not that gays are boring, gay people are like the fucking best man. Oh, yeah. Gay people are the fucking best. I've always wanted a gay best friend. Yeah. Anyways, speaking of gays, um speaking of gays, um, apparently they took Brian Tamiki's guns. Yeah, so that's the next uh fucking that is the next fucking um l thing on fuck that's funny. I couldn't decide between the both of them. But um I did see like oh my gosh. Like first things first, okay, they've taken Brian I've written this is exactly how it's written down in my notes. They took Brian Tarmiki's guns and cancelled his gun license. Laughing emoji, the extremer one that's kind of like tilted on the side, like the hysteric laugh emoji. And then in brackets, also, and then in capital letters, he's had guns this whole fucking time. Let's just think about that for a second. Brian Tamaki, for anybody who doesn't know, anybody who's overseas and listening, Brian Tamaki, I'm gonna get Google's um, I'm gonna get Google's fucking definite, whatever you call it, Tamaki. Brian Tarmake. It says here, Brian Tarmaky is a New Zealand Christian, fundamentalist, religious leader, and politician. He is the leader of Destiny Church and a Pentecostal Christian a pentec Pentecostal Christian organization that advocates strict adherence to a fundamentalist view of biblical morality. The bro is a cult leader, okay? That definition in there, there was a lot of big words I don't fucking understand. He's a fucking cult leader, okay? And the oh fuck, yeah. They did like this march on Anzac Day where he got a lot of the Māori youth that go to his church to do this fucking march, and I shit you not, it was one of the most terrifying things I have seen, and I've seen a fair amount of scary shit, but the like this was fucking next level, and if you haven't seen it, I'm sure you'll be able to find it if you Google it or YouTube it. But they're like marching and they're like, oh, it's like robots, eh? Like it is fucking scary. It's almost like I guess almost like a fucking like army. Like he's created himself an army of these young people. Oh my god, and he ha he's had fucking guns this whole time. Like he's been talking about burning down fucking oh I can't remember what what they were, like other religions things. He was outside of New Zealand, if I remember correctly, when I saw this shit going on. But that's apparently why they've taken his guns. But how the fuck? How the fuck? Anyways, yeah, it did fucking crack me up when I heard that um he'd had his guns taken off him, but also I fucking love AI, man.
SPEAKER_01I searched Brian Tamaki's guns on Facebook and somebody had made this fucking AI picture of Brian Tarmaky with these with these huge titties. With these huge titties.
SPEAKER_00And I was like, God bless fucking AI, honestly, like that is the fucking best. But yeah, fucking anyways, didn't crack me up as hard as the YouTube coming up with nubs, but holy shit. Anyways, there's a couple of um couple of fuck that's funnies. I'm gonna we're at 20 minutes now, so hell yeah. Man, these 20 minutes are just flying by these days, honestly. Holy moly. Time flies when you're having fun, eh? I'm really looking forward to having a couple of couple of people on this podcast. Calza said to me that her and Tahi are keen to come on, so fucking yep, I'd absolutely love to have to have two of my bestest people's, bestest buddies come on and um spin a fucking yarn. Very wise human beings and just I don't know, I don't know how to put it. Um Tahi was my life coach. Kells was my I ended up doing gardening for them and they found me on Facebook and I cleaned up cleaned up Callie's rental property and ended up fucking asking them if they'd like sorted someone out to rent it. Anyway, long story short, ended up renting it. Um Tahee said that he was doing life coaching, went to one of his like free events, ended up doing his life coaching course, and um just yeah, fucking amazing, eh? Fucking really just salt of the earth people, and I'm I'm real I'm real lucky to have people like that in my life. So, anyways, shout out, love you guys. I'm not the best at doing this sort of stuff, but yeah, I so appreciate you and everything that you've shown me and just the unconditional fucking love that you've given me. Um yeah. I'll tell you what, it's such a blessing to be able to feel grateful and to be able to recognise even like the unconditional love. There was a time where I think I had love blindness, like I was so fucking unwell and so like programmed to search for danger that I missed so much beauty and appreciation for the good stuff in life. And I tell you what, I was talking to Phil, haven't forgot about you, Phil, you're still making it to this episode of the podcast. Um I was talking to talking to Phil and saying that like the fuck doing the fuck that's funnies is is kind of like it's kind of making me like look out for the funny stuff through the week as well. And um, yeah, fuck I'm finding that humour is so important. Like it's so important to not take life so seriously. Like life's been life is serious enough and I think just humour and I I think humour's always been a coping mechanism for me, and sometimes it's not been very um I don't think it's been very healthy at times, but yeah, through working on myself and um recovery's been like a weird journey of kind of like uh lost myself fully and but I've kind of like returned to my I'm t I'm returning to my natural who I actually am, like my authentic self. I don't know if that fucking makes sense, but anyways, holy shit. This one's gonna be 25 minutes, fam. This one's gonna be fucking 25 fucking minutes. Holy shit. As you can tell, I still haven't done a public domain, um I haven't found a public domain little sound clip or whatever. But easy does it, eh? I'm still turning up. I can't fuck excuse me. I can't fucking believe it. I'm still turning up, still doing episodes. The consistency. The band James shows a lot of consistency from 1982 to still fucking putting out putting out albums. Man, amazing. How good. Anyways, I hope you all have a beautiful week this week and um yeah. Enjoy the fuck that's funnies of your own life. I hope I hope some beautiful magic things happen and some hilariously good times happen this week too. So lots of love. You'll hear me on the next one. Bye.
